American Legion Post 36 is proud to announce the “Cup For Life” blood drive challenge. This unique event is in partnership with Blood Assurance, a Tennessee nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring the safety and availability of local blood supplies. For this challenge, members of AL Post 36 and their Auxiliary Unit will compete against the Centerville Police Department, Hickman County Sheriff’s Department, and Hickman County First Responders to include all HC Fire and EMS Departments in a friendly competition to see who can donate the most blood and be awarded the “Cup For Life” trophy.
The Blood Assurance blood mobile will be parked at the Centerville Fire Station, located at 126 N. Central Avenue, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on September 14, 2024 ready to welcome donors.
This important event does more than just create a sense of camaraderie among the competitors. It serves a crucial community benefit at a time when local blood supplies are critically low. Donations from the “Cup For Life” challenge will directly benefit local hospitals, ensuring they have the resources they need to care for patients in need.
Blood Assurance is committed to providing a safe, efficient supply of blood and blood components to every patient in need. The need for blood donation is constant. It’s not just about responding to emergencies or disasters. Maintaining a steady supply of blood is essential for the daily operations of our local hospitals. Regular donations help ensure that blood is always available for patients who need it.
So, mark your calendar and join us at the Centerville Fire Station on competition day. Show your support for our local heroes and help us keep the community blood supply safe. Each donation saves three lives!
